Microgaming is well known for releasing at least two to three new slot games every month. In the month of April, they did just that. One of the games that they released is called Golden Princess. Golden Princess attracted me only because it was a new slot game.
Upon entering the game, I found it to be a lot like the other Aztec or Mayan themed slots I have played through the years. The 5 reels and 25 paylines contain symbols such as a puma, a leopard, the princess, a male warrior, a treasure chest that acts as a scatter symbol and the Golden Princess logo symbol. The background is set on what looks to be like ancient civilization art on the walls of the temple.
The Golden Princess logo symbol is the wild symbol and if it presents itself in any winning combination, it will a award 2 times or 3 times multiplier to your win.
I found the treasure chest to be the most exciting symbol of all because it is a symbol that holds the key to landing the bonus round. The Golden Princess bonus round is made up of free spins. 3 treasure chests will award 10 free spins, 4 treasure chests will award 20 free spins and 5 treasure chests will award 30 free spins. Free spin bonus rounds are quite common as slot enthusiasts know. Microgaming tried to change up these free spins by granting a random payout of up to 10 times your wager every time a scatter symbol lands in the reels during the free spins.
Personally, I feel that Golden Princess did not deliver or hold up to my expectations of a new game. It is an attractive slot but how many times can we actually see an Aztec or Mayan themed game and really feel that it is a new? Where’s the excitement when we have seen the same type theme over and over?
Golden Princess may hold a gold mine within its mysterious civilization and the only way that you will find out if it does is by playing it. I gave Crazy Vegas and Golden Riveria my business to see what the Golden Princess could do for me. I hope the Golden Princess works her charm for you!
